Since I throw sportsbook a $1 12 team ML parlay every saturday and sunday, its worth a buck to win over 100 million.

I will definitely take the lump sum payout because my life expectancy would surely drop if I win that kind of money.

Every time I see a jackpot like that and get tempted I just think to myself "You're about 125 times more likely to be dealt a royal flush with the first five cards in any given hand of video poker than you are to hit that jackpot with any given ticket."

Holy shit! I thought the odds were comparable to Powerball (approx. 1/80M). Those odds are over twice as bad. How can anyone accept 1/175M?

Stranger things have happened in this world. A childhood friend of mine was in med school and about to get married. He had over $100,000 in college and med school debts. He doesn't even play, but decided to buy one Mega Millions ticket as he was paying for his gas. He didn't win the grand prize, but got 5 numbers and won $175,000. This happened a little over a year ago.
