What's to stop a disgruntled CSR with a sportsbook to steal clients account info?

Call in a bet, give acct number and password, those clerks have access to your account.

Say they go home, and go on a betting binge and lose everything in your account.

Does this concern anyone else?

I know my voice doesn't sound much like most of theirs

TIMEOUT....THE CUSTOMER HAS THROWN THE RED FLAG WE WILL REVIEW THE TAPES

or IP information

If all my bets normally come in thru California, and all of a sudden they record Antigua or Costa Rica...safe to say it's not me

Hopefully most books would recognize this

I suppose it is very possible, even if they couldn't get the funds, they could destroy an acct.

Common sense would say they have protection for this

If it's called in, the tapes

If it's done through the internet, IP records....

I'm sure this has been tried/exploited or thought about since the beginning...If it happens it must be rare because I've yet to see any real mention of it

Not saying it would happen with any major book, in fact i asked Slim this last year when i interviewed him, he did mention there were a few clerks who got caught doing things...I knew of a few who worked at a smaller book who did some underhanded things, I think the Book BetMega had a couple clerks who were giving away the shop, they went under..

I doubt any major book would run into this problem, just saying it is possible.

The Shrink had someone calling in bets under his account number according to him, and even accused the book itself.

I'm not saying they are going to get money, or call in wagers, I am saying, when I play a wager by phone, I have to give my account info.

I am speaking a employee pissed, boss an ass, fired, etc......that wants to be an ass and just empties a few accounts.

someone from esb sold my info to carib and atlas. i never even heard of atlas. both carib and atlas sent info to my old office address that i was stupid enough to have esb send a payout to in 1999.
