If you are high in the chip count when you are in the last rebuy round does it make sense to rebuy more chips if you already are well off? On the other hand if you are real low on chips right before the cutoff does it make sense to go ahead and waste more money on chips when you are already way behind?

I have had both of these situations this week. Could someone with knowledge on this subject help me out?

Thanks.

hey chop, i saw u on Doyle's Room the other day. but i think the answers to ur question depend on how many people are involved in the tourney, what the blinds are at, and how many chips compared to everyone else. however, i dont think it would be wise to rebuy when ur high in the chip count, think it would be just a waste.

What I am asking is if you are in a rebuy tourney and you get to the cut off point where it is your last chance to buy more chips. If you are already real high in chips should you buy more or is this a waste of money. If you are real low in chips and other people already have10x more chips than you is it worth while to waste money on more chips or just call a loss a loss.

Thanks for the answers so far.

well im assuming ur asking about the add on....i always do it no matter how many chips i have after rebuy period....usually u get about 12.5 BB for ur money.....

if im shortstacked....and have 1600 chips and it requires 1500 to do the rebuy then i dont do the addon.....i never like to be in that situation tho.

hope it helps

I find that some players will call all-ins pre-flop early with ANYTHING in an attempt to double up asap. You can exploit this but it sure drives you nuts when you get QQ cracked by 85. It's not just maniacs, a lot of the better players I consitently see at the final table are doing it. They're just trying to get as many chips as possible before the break, no matter what it costs them.
