I am in contact with quite a few and trust me, they are not happy at all. Esp. the pilots. It used to be becoming a pilot for a major airline was one of the best jobs around: unlimited free travel, $250k per year salaries, fat pensions, easy hours, hot stewardesses to bang, etc. Now all the pilots I come into contact with through my job are having financial problems. They are faced with layoffs, taking 20% + pay cuts just to keep their jobs, reduced pensions, etc.
Why, are you going long airline stocks? There is still a lot of despondency to go, IMO.
