When I play from the Dark Side I like to use a doubling progression of 1,2,4,8 bets. I take my roll on the don't when doing this and get great joy out of crying "another come out roll for the lucky shooter". Usually a small winner but loses all 13 units once in a while. Only play for peanuts.

This is an overall loser as there is no winning strategy for craps.

Don't betting is boring for most. As pointed out no winning strategy out there so you might as well just try to jump on the hot roll, at least the entertainment value is higher. Sometimes I bet some don't when the table is ice cold, but usually just better to get out quickly when a table is cold. And most important, take profits. Once again not that it makes you a long-term winner, just the mentality is important. I see too many guys who lose a little and then chase like crazy and lose a lot. If you take profits often you at least keep yourself off of that rollercoaster a bit.

Basically Bill says no way to beat it, or -EV, agrees with me. Fine game if you understand it and want to suck-up free drinks and have a boisterous time placing bets with minuscule negative expectation, letting mathematical normal variation determine your win/ loss. It's not my game, but I understand it's attraction.

Chacun ses gouts, if I remember my useless HS French !

Do keep in mind, one has a slightly better mathematical chance of winning playing the DONT PASS than the PASS LINE.

House edge.....

PASS LINE......1.41%
DONT PASS.... 1.40%

$56K stolen in craps scam at BR casino, troopers say

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - One man is in custody and Louisiana State Police are looking for two others accused of taking part in manipulating a casino “craps” game at a Baton Rouge casino.

The LSP Gaming Enforcement Division says they were contacted by casino staff about a group of men who they say fraudulently won nearly $56,000 playing “craps” by a method known as “dice sliding.”

The incident happened at the Belle of Baton Rouge casino.

Police say they worked with casino security to identify three men allegedly responsible: Allan Arana,35, Lim R. Tan,42, and Jaime Iglesias, 47.

Investigators say that during play, Arana would allegedly manipulate the dice while Tan and Iglesias would allegedly make bets to increase the odds of payout.

Arana was located Arana at the Louis Armstrong Airport in New Orleans where he was placed under arrest on a charge of theft.

Investigators are still attempting to located Tan and Iglesias. All three men are from the Philippines, but Arana was residing in Las Vegas.

Reminds me of playing craps with bourn

We are playing pass line and a few numbers shooting the shit for a bit

All of the sudden they pass the roll, a guy craps out and I look down and bourn is getting paid on the no pass

i give him a glance like "what gives" as I thought we were with the table

he just smiles and nods at the kind of dorky guy rolling on the other end of the table as he is collecting and says "cmon man, that dude has never won a bet in his life"....lol

that's not true, the odds between pass and don't pass are practically exactly the same (that's why a 12 coming out is no action)

now if you start adding in place bets and hard-ways and props, the house advantage increases. But pass and come with odds vs don't pass and don't come with odds are equal for all intents and purposes

I would actually argue pass is better than no pass in reality because both of those bets are made better with maximum odds. But people raraly take maximum odds all the time, bankrolls are not big enough.

So at a ten dollar table with 5x odds (5x is the new norm), who's more likely to take max odds?

Pass = 50 to win 100 on a 4 or 10 and 50 to win 75 on the 5 or 9 (6 & 8 not a big difference, but don't players sometimes take no action on those numbers)

Don't pass = 100 to win 50 or 75 to win 50 respectively

people are more likely to take max odds of $ 50 vs laying max odds of $ 100 or $ 75

LOVE the DONTS,,, I started watching a guy 6 some years ago, and he was LAYING the 4-12, and he was crushing it,, Just like with anytable,, you have big swings,, his money was no different,, we was up 7g,,, then down 3g,, then up 10g,,

I started playing a combo of Dont and LAY,,, if someone hits a 12 or 4 I would replace it once,, IF they hit it again, I would leave it empty,,
anyway,, since I started playing the LAY with the donts,,, Ive done pretty good,,,

and also, noone really knows WTF a LAY is anyway,, lolol,,,
