Like 1/2 Hold'em while you're simoteaniously ( I can't spell that word) watching TV, reading the newspaper, and doing whatever ? It's just on in the background, you just don't watch and wait for primo hands, and mix it up a bit , wait for the beep ?

Can that work ? Just wait for good cards, and pretty much ignore the screen on most hands , at low-limits.

I tend to think it may work, somewhat at lowest limits !

I can't do it at the small tables (<$15). They go so fast, with such idiotic plays that in order to have a chance at the end you need to figure out which players are charity chips.

I find I can play 1/2 and pay almost no attention to it, I like 3/5 , 5/10 to capture my attention. 15/30 is a limit i have yet to try, 10/ 20 is my personal max.

then why bother playing the 1/2 if your not going to pay attention really to it???? do you do that just for the "action" of playing cards doug?

You can definitely get away with it at lower limits - .10/.25 NL tables. Though it obviously is not recommended for maximum EV. But you can watch TV, post on the Rx, eat dinner, and still beat most of the poor chaps that play the smaller tables. Most of them are playing for fun and won't notice that you are only playing premium hands/excellent flops. Plus the turnover at these tables is extremely high. One after another comes in to dump their chips away and consider it $25 well spent.

Start playing limit, there in not much thought that goes into the game, after you spend a ton of time learning it. I can auto-pilot 4 tables in limit, and be doing homework/drinking/watching a movie etc.
