This will be my first and probably only Double Killer Play in Baseball this year but feel extremely confident on this one.

Take the Cardinals -125 or runline -1.5 +125 (your choice) vs Cubs with Morris going up vs Rusch. Tony Larussa like past years does not accept division clinchers or allow his team to without doing it on the field. The magic number is one but in division tiebreakers now they go with best head to head record which is why it is officially over. I guarantee Cards have not popped the champagne yet and will only do so with next win. Rusch pitched well last outing vs Cards but he won't do it 2 times in a row. On the other hand, Morris has been pitching poorly lately but with Suppan and Marquis pitching lights out, Morris' spot in playoff rotation is being questioned and publicly in St. Louis Post Dispatch by Bernie Misklaz. I see a very strong performance today by Morris with wind likely blowing in with overcast and possible rain in forecast as Cubs bats will be silenced. Larussa also is not happy with Cards performance vs Cubs this year and will not lay down. They may be great fade tomorrow but trust when I say they will take care of business today in a game around 5-1 score as Cubs at home have been under .500 while Cards road record best in baseball. Walker and Edmonds may rest today with Sanders and Taguchi in though Sanders may be held out due to dampness of field to prevent Eli Marrero type injury and if he does expect Edmonds to play but ow Cubs bats not enough as they are now packing it in. Cards win convincingly to win it on the field and pop the bubbly!

Homeplate ump is Holbrook. Rusch has gone 0-3 with him and the other teams have scored 29 runs in those 3 games.

I agree here, have Stl about a -180 fav barring several lineup changes. Rusch has pitched worse then his era suggests.

I have to take the cubs today.Pujols and Walker probably out.I am not sure how many games they have won with Pujols out but i think it is 1 or 2.I see your points but i just can't bet on them without Walker and Pujols.

How do you know who is playing the game? Last time I bet the cards I didn't even know that Pujols wasn't playing and they ended up losing. They don't list the starting lineup at mlb.com

levistep,

I have Don Best Premium which lists lineups for that day's games and gives immediate updates on lineups, weather, etc. Costs over $500/mo but definitely worth it. BOL

If you don't want to pay $500/mo they usually have lineups posted at Yahoo Sports of CBS Sportsline at least 1/2 hour before the game.

Sorry to intrude here Kojak! Good luck on the Cards today, had them last night, not so sure about Morris today but you know this team better than I do.

the don best cheap version is only 109/month and it is updated every two minutes and therefore some if you pay close attention you can see the line movement in real time just like the 550 service.technically it is a two minute deal and not two minutes behind.

Actually mlb.com usually shows the lineups 30 minutes before the game.

My guess is that Albert will play and rest tomorrow with lh on the mound. Edmonds and Walker sit unless Tony wants to hold out Sanders due to wet conditions than one of them will play and likely Edmonds. Best of luck winning and I will post official starting lineup as soon as don best posts it. Thanks.
