-was wondering if anyone was interested in taking part in a Quitting smoking Challenge in the Health & Fitness Forum.

Some Ideas I had:

1) to start October 1 2005
2) we will register our names
3) encourage each other in the appropriate thread
4) report in at least once a week to say how things are going.

First Prize: Years & Years added to your life.

Last Place: Lung Cancer.

p.s: please, those of you who dont smoke at all, I dont need to hear any of those "I dont know how anyone can smoke anyway" type replies.

Count me in as I have been trying but unsucessful and when I start smoking again I often smoke more than I did previously.

Not a smoker, but think this is a GREAT IDEA for those trying to kick a nasty and health disabling habit.

i'm the same way, except i've pretty much given up on quitting/trying to quit for that reason.

i'll just wish you all good luck, and if even one person can quit successfully, it made that much difference.

i cut a deal with my wife, if i quit smoking, i can gamble on anything i want,
as long i don't drive the family into debt.
its been almost 4 1/2 yrs since i had my last smoke. its worth it not having to make excuses of where i was when i went to the track.

Good Idea.

P.S Can you please stop sending me invites to join your cell phone circle.

Who's doing that ? Sherman ? I doubt it ( in Bob's voice ! ) You'd have to live in NE to get that.

If you're talking cold turkey, that's foolish. The best way to quit is determine how many individual cigarettes you smoke per day then cut down by two or three per day every week.
