I recommended a guy to neteller but they will not activate his acc't unless they can call him back, back to a landline phone. This guy makes a nice income but has no need for a "home" phone. He has one of the latest mobile/cell phones that will do most anything but neteller told him his cell phone number isnt acceptable.

More and more people especially 20 somethings are not paying for a landline "home" phone. There has to be a work around for this?

I recently signed up with neteller and they had to call me. The other thing that was annoying is that I have a GA cell phone number but recently moved to CA. They would not accept my acct because of this. So I had to actually sign up under my old address. Eventually I will change the address on the account but it hasn't caused any problems yet. They are a pain in the behind.

I don't have a land line phone, but they agreed to call me at my business number.

If he has a work phone, they will do it through there. Have him try that.

I would just tell them my cell phone number. Its not like they'd do the reasearch to find out it wasn't truly a landline. If its with me at all times, whats the difference?

If you link it with a bank account, they don't call you, I think.

Without a bank account, they need some sort of verification.

I had this happen. The problem is, they trace the "area" code to the address on the account. If you have a Cali addy, and a MICH area code, your account will be a no go.

BS for sure, but I guess for securtiey reasons.
