before i get into it, let me say that i do not consider myself a sharp or even a good capper. i am successful gambler pretty much because of the info on this site. i followed bucsfan all year in bases and i fade the public reports for the other sports...shopping about 6 books to get the best line and taking advantage of free half points and middles when available. so, my success is really driven not by my ability as much as using information that maybe not everyone else has.

ok, here is the phenomenon:

i bet, on average, about $300/game. the people in my life that know that i gamble on sports will occasionally ask me how i do. i think most expect me to say "i'm about break even" or maybe even "i'm getting killed". when i answer "i am up about $12,000 this year". i get looks like "yeah...sure you are".

its kind of funny.

Blue, my friends used to ask and I would tell them, stopped doing it a couple of years ago. Since 99% lose, they don't expect you to be in the 1%. The average person looking at a newspaper has no shot long term and that is what most Rec. gamblers use.

actually, if i started following bucky in april and played ever one of his plays, i'd be up over $15,000 on baseball alone.

it's the nature of the beast...even on the forums, if you say your killing them, people will doubt you...if you say you're getting killed, they believe you...

anyone that reads this forum and has half a clue and doesn't chase, should be making money annually....THERE IS NO EXCUSE!

Blue Edwards opening post is very sound advice and a very reasonable scenario.

Have a plan and stick to it.

anyone who reads this forum and doubts people win big money just have to look at bucky's baseball picks. i mean come on...there is no capping required. just read his post and go to pinnacle and put the plays in. how easy is that?

Even with your advice Blue, there will be many many casualties..

I still have a hard time believing the 95% figure, especially on this forum...just can't be.

Worst case scenario, you put money offshore and lose more often than you win, BUT- when you do hit your winning streaks you get more than enough back...

Its almost like a savings account or an insurance policy, eventually it will pay off...Its what you do when you hit 15-20 dimes that counts, and anyone playing 300-500 a game will go on those streaks eventually and reep the rewards...and that is a worst case scenario IMO...

You may go a year where you scuffle a long, next yr you win 25 grand, next yr you drop 5, its a long term endeavor...gotta pick your sopts
