Help,

I've gone to 1. Control Panel, then 2. Internet Options, then delete files, cookies, clear history, auto complete etc and still will auto complete with history when I type the beginning of a url on Internet Explorer???

Can someone help please.....there are a couple of sites I've visited that I need to erase.

Thanks, Hal:icon_conf

If you're using IE as your browser, it is under Internet Options. First tab. Says "clear history".

How about when you run your anti virus and it says it scanned a 100,000 files or something....Why are the temp internet files still there after you delet them?

It seems like there are more and more files that the scan picks up....Like a year ago it said 50,000 files scanned no virus found. Then this year there are like a 100,000 files being scanned...How the hell do I fix that???

Please and thank you.

cyberscrub is the best way to delete online history.

it deletes with department of defense standards or even higher than that.

when you delete something on your computer only the reference is removed but the file remains and can be easily retrieved.

the only safe deletion is overwritting the file with DOD or higher standards.

If you ever give or sell your computer to someone, format does not protect you.

in that case you must use dban to completely sanitize your disk.

google search for cyberscrub and dban to find these 2 programs, dban is free, cyberscrub is expensive but worth every penny

Smoke I really don't give a shit about whats on my PC its just that I'm afraid that the files are taking up too much space and my PC seems a little slower.

But if you were to junk your PC what would be the safest way to get rid of all info???...burn it maybe???

destroy the harddrive physically with a hammer or sanitize it with dban

If you didn't want to go through the process of using a program, or perhaps you are on a computer that doesn't have one of the programs, you can still follow the following steps to clear auto-complete history:

In Internet Exploder-Tools-Internet Options-Content tab-Auto Complete button-Clear Forms button.
