I wanted to make sure my logic or understandning is correct.
If a line let say example Boise st vs BG game. It opened at 76 got as high as 77 and now at some places it 75.5. Does that mean that public is smashing the over and so books move it down so they can induce more under bettors to even it out? I always thought I had it right , but I think I could be wrong. Any great insights would be great. thanks! :suomi:

line movement goes according to wagers within a book. lets say we hav a sportbook and there customers wager more on the over i think the individual book would move there lines up to the over since everyone wagering on the over.

I dont think they would move down if ov77 is already getting bet. It's possible they have moved the line down to try and induce action they were not getting. More likely, someone smart or who bets a lot played the under at multiple outs, causing a chain affect by donbest watching followers. Even if books are heavy on the over, if they know someone is a winner and they play the under they should still move the line down rather than balancing their book, as the smart player has told them their line is wrong. Hope this makes things a bit clearer for you.
