They're already saying Cat 3 or maybe Cat 4 by the time it get's across the gulf.

If any good can come out of this storm, at least it convinced this dunce New Orleans mayor to stop letting people return to the bacteria and mold infested mess of a town.

I saw this guy on Cnn again and i have to say that he is shockingly stupid!

I cant figure out how in the hell in duped people into voting for him!!!

Why is he even letting people back in any way? So they can catch diseases, get injured by debris or even worse yet have another hurrican deposit tons of water on them again!!!!

why doesnt some one step in and recall this idiot!!! Havent enough people died already?

Well it could help to change the administration's policy regarding the Kyoto accord.

As I recall the story was that it was too costly to the economy to implement changes aimed at curbing global warming. I think we are in any case close to the point of no return regarding global warming. These hurricanes and consequent economic costs, to say nothing of the deaths and destroyed lives, are merely the signs of things to come as the hurricane season starts earlier each year generating more storms that are of greater strength.

I know George W. owes his election in part to those who truly believe we are living in the end times before Armageddon. Unfortunately given the administrations disdain for and misrepresentation of Science I worry that this could become a self fulfilling prophecy.

Can you imagine???

They moved those poor people from New Orleans to Houston and the latest report has the hurricane headed to Houston. That is horrible.

It's already past Miami (passed south of it actually). Clipped the Keys, but they came away pretty much unscathed.

Hopefully we will be better prepared than La. was. At least we aren't living in a bowl. I'll ride it out ---- the wife is from Florida and says we will be O.K. I haven't felt this unsure of her judgement since she married me 20+ years ago!
