Last week my friend and I who bet thru a local decided that we needed to stop being greedy and that if we hit over 1k in winnings we would quit for the rest of the week and collect. Assuming we win 1k every week thats 4k per month which isn't bad. How much + money does it take for you to say i'm done collect or are you action jackson?

assuming that you win 1k a week, you make it sound like it's a sure thing that you will get up 1k every week, let me tell you what will happen, you win 1k for three or four weeks, and then you get stuck one week and chase your losses and give it all back plus 1k. The real question should be how much will u get down before you call it quits for a week, if you r winning keep betting till you lose one.

This should never be a question...............your in this for the longterm.

You should NEVER use being "UP so much" as the ONLY means in determining if you should quit or not.

I'll quote one of my favorite bands Hatebreed song... A lesson lived is a lesson learned. Been there done that. I bet not as much as many here, my bankroll is 8k. IF i'm down more than 1500 i'm done. I'll pay the man. Trust me. I've done that stupid ass chasing bets and got HURT BAD.

I am in for the long, long haul. I start and there is no finish until I am dead. I bet games I like, I don't bet according to how much I am up or down. This is one of my hobbies and I love doing it and I am not stopping because I am up some loot, I don't do it for the money.

What fish said - Doesn't matter how much you are up. If you see a play that you believe will result in positive EV then you take it. It's a marathon, not a sprint. The only way this should be considered is if you are giving it up for good. But if the question is whether or not to bet this Arkansas-USC game tonight then whether or not you are up or down for the day should not be in the equation.
