The team leader in wins, Wakefield has been the most consistent pitcher for the Red Sox in the second half of the season and has given invaluable rest to the bullpen in his last four starts. The knuckleballer has given the Red Sox at least eight innings over that stretch, including two complete games. Kazmir moved to .500 for the season after limiting the Orioles to one run on two hits in six innings. The outing was the 13th time in 30 starts the 21-year-old left-hander allowed one run or less. He continues to struggle with his control, which drives his pitch count up and dictates that he leave the game earlier than the Rays would like. Still, he has matured nicely this season. Kazmir's last outing against the Red Sox saw him get a no-decision after surrendering four earned runs in 5 2/3 innings on Aug. 30 in a 7-6 Red Sox win.
