Is $100 alot of money?

You would think it was $1,000,000!!!!!!!

Twice in the past couple of weeks, I have paid at a 7-11 & another conv store w/ a $100 bill.....man the lady both times had to stare at it for 20 minutes, strecth it out for another 10, call 3 people for clearance, asked me my mom's maiden name and what year i was born.....i understand most people don't go into a store like that w/ a $100, and probably not even a $50, but cmon, enough people do where we don't have to make it out like they saw an alien! I also understand not wanting the store to get ripped off but damn, enough is enough....

usually Sherman they do not even take 100$ alot of convience stores says 20$ are highest bill or 50$....your lucky they even take it

i tried paying for a soup with a 10,000 colones bill earlier today *our largest bill* which is about 21 dollars...

the woman asked me if i had anything smaller

I hate it when they do that....

I've done it. Used to have a truck that held 30 gallons, cost $50 to fill then. Pay first, they balk, tell them you'll buy $50 in gas plus some other stuff. They can drop it in safe. They don't have any more cash than if I paid in 10's.

That truck would eat the $100 today, with a newspaper and cup of coffee added.

The reason that they looked at the bill so closely is the EXACT opposite reason that you said. They did it because so many people DO pay with $100 bills. They are the most counterfeited bills on the market. When I lived in Mexico, I saw some counterfeit $100 bills that looked so legit that they even passed the pen mark test.

$100 bills aren't that large really, although the largest current bill. There used to be $500, $1,000, and even $10,000 bills about 70 years ago. Even $100,000 bills only used by Fed reserve banks between themselves.

I use plastic for everything. Can't barely remember what a $100 bill looks like.

Anybody remember a few years back a lady went to Walmart and bought about $15,000 worth of electronics and tried to pay with a 1 million dollar bill. Obviously she got busted, but I want to know what was really going through her head. Did she really think that Walmart would then give her $985,000 in change?

Was on the way to a poker game and forgot to grab change for toll booth. Handed over $100 note and she didn't have enough change and had to get the manager and it held the busy traffic up and I became a victim of road rage.

I always hated that. Sometimes you even catch crap for paying with a $50. Many business will post that they don't accept bills larger than a $20. But I use my debit card for everything these days - hell even Mcdonalds and Taco Bell. I can't remember the last time I had a bill larger than a 20.

All these books seem to think it is with all these deposit $100 and get $100 bonus offers. Obviously many at the Rx aren't their target market.
