A nice dose of chasing and losing a few times will cure this problem. Unless of course you like pain, in that case it takes a few more chase and lose episodes. Had a bad day of football a number of years back and chased hard on a Yankees LOCK, at the end of the day my balance was zero. I haven't chased since that day and never came close to a relapse.

Few years ago I was betting like a hundred or less per game. Had a horrible weekend and just said fuck it. Put 1800 on Pitt against the Rams when Pitt was home. Rams win easy and I took a break for a nice long time.

Withdraw money and keep CA$H at home. I keep 70% of my bankroll at home in the form of green bills and I never have more than 10% at ANY book.

If the money isn't there, you can't go tilt.

Cash is harder to move and it will require you going to a store and use Western Union to send in the money.

Everybody has their chasing horror stories. When I was still in gambling diapers, I had put together a fine college basketball season. Late in the year I hit a losing streak and then got moosed on a halfcourt buzzer beater to blow my cover. Put my entire roll on New Mexico over BYU at the pit and lost it all. Lesson learned.

It takes a mature and disciplined gambling mind to avoid it. This is where the books really make their money. Not going on tilt is one of the biggest differences between a successful gambler and a losing gambler. Until you can learn to not chase your losses, you are going to be behind the 8 ball in this racket. Step away from your PC (or your bookie), take a few days or a few weeks off, go eat a good meal, go for a drive, go :hump: your lady - whatever it takes.

I was one of the most undiscipline players ever.First time I went to vegas I was on a junket and they gave you funny money (no computer)when you played your funny money , your obligation to them was completed.I lost 400 was compt with rfb.Fifteen minutes before I went to the plane I went to crap table and bet dont pass for 600 laying 1200 when point was 10 lost and then again point was 10 again 600-1200 10 again and third time 600 again point 10 and yes 10 again .I was only betting 5 dollars and sometimes 10 .A friend who bet big 25 rolled our funny money, for me and 2 other friend which went with him.
Didnt stop there had to do the losing Monday night game every time I was stuck big.Thank God for Monday night to double up ,plus add a few bucks to get ahead.Bet more when your winning ,DONT chase, there is always another game and we bet thousands of them a year.
But I LEARNED TO BE DISCIPLINED and this is how I did it.I went to the crap table and played seriously only the dont pass and hedged it up by betting the 6 and the 8.If the person that was rolling made 2 points I doubled always laying full odds against. If that person made 3rd point -I always took my place bets downand waited for a new shooter. If a second player on the same table made 3 points in a row I left.Standing there ,betting against ever one and not saying anything-doing the same thing over and over and over. This taught me too be disciplined.I only play pass side now(more fun) but made a profit most times playing other way and learning to change sides slowly as a good roll was developing.I hated staying on that dont side but looking back.I stayed discipiled for the first time.

Being 25 now, I got into gambling right after school. I pride myself on keeping up with college and their teams. I played ball in school so I said I woudlnt' gamble until I got out. So when I got out, I was doing well. I kicked some major ass in those years bowl game too. however I had no bankroll, I didn't know what that meant. I was very bad. The local my friend had took 1 dollar or more for bets no 50 cent stuff. So I'm here, fresh out of school and I was betting with money I knew that if i lost I couldn't really pay. So one week it came to bite me in the ass and BAD! I was losing in college and it was the 2nd yr of the bowl season and I thought I was on fire last yr might as well push it again. so I lose on some game sn then a monday night game. Neb vs Mich st. I was on a diff board and I was down 2500. I had like 1500 in the bank and I wanted to get down to atleast that amount. So did some stuff but intead I BET teh whole 2500 on mich st. They lost and I was fucked! I coudln't sleep, I had to figure out how the fuck I was gonna get 3500 by WED. I had to actually break down and tell my parents I gambled and they had to do some shit and paid off the local. From that point I took a whole year off and then found this board and learned bout bankroll and what to bet and what chasing was. Now, smarter and wiser, I'm bettting better and #1 rule. BET what you can AFFORD to lose! I'm still young but that day, I'll never forget.

Been there done that (even worse for me, it was rent money and i didnt even have parents to fall back on....at least if i told them that story the would disown me)

I still chase every now and then!!!! I chased my FSU pick this weekend when Boston came back big in the first hafl and looked like they would run away with it in the second!!!! but i was more chasing a winning streak than a losing streak.. I ended up giving the books back every dime i won on the FSU pick by losing Boston+3 for the second half!!!! But that is small potatoes and wouldnt even qualify as being on full tilt or whatever!!!

I just wish i could eliminate that kind of bullshit totally from my gambling!!!! It saves me at times but has cost me at other times!!!!:headbeat:

oh my parents said If I ever came back to borrow money from them for gambling they would def disown me so that why I got my bankroll and bet what I can afford to lose. Family comes first so I dont' want to put myself in that hole ever again.
