Loe hit in head by line drive

Loe was plunked in the fourth inning and the ball deflected to shortstop Michael Young, who made the catch for the last out of the inning.

Loe was taken to the hospital for precautionary tests. He was making his sixth start and 46th appearance of the season in Wednesday night's contest.

The 24-year-old right-hander entered the contest with a 9-5 record and 3.42 ERA.

When I used to play baseball in high school, one night during fall ball I was pitching. Runners on 1st and 2nd, nobody out. Batter comes up, same guy who I struck out on three straight fastballs in his first AB. I'm in a jam, but figure I'll be able to overpower him again and get a K and work my way outta this jam. So I pump a first-pitch fastball...which he proceeds to crush. Right at me. I remember throwing the pitch, seeing a blur in front of my face, and next thing I know I'm on the ground covered in blood, still bleeding and with a weird feeling in my mouth.

Ball bounced off my face and back to the catcher, who then throws the batter out at 1st. At least that's what I was told; I was unconscious during the whole thing, for a grand total of about 15 seconds.

Two missing teeth and a shitload of blood later, here I am with two dental implants. Dentist said the ball had to have been traveling at least 95 mph+, because the teeth were knocked clean out, root and everything. So that was fun.

But at least I got that motherfucker out! And then had sex with his mom.

what that fucker forgets to mention is that my ass had to go back to that same field midnight of that night with the sprinklers on and look for his teeth on and around the mound with a flashlight. fun...
