Is 10% off enough to entice you? For example, a coupon for 10% off dry cleaning....do you take the time to use it?

I am doing some research so any responses are appreciated....

Way to much of a baller for coupon clipping.

Seriously 20 and up will get my attention. Depending on the amount of the item. If its something expensive then sure 10 off will effect me.

Depends where it was. If it was not out of my way I guess.

If I was going to the same place for years I probably wouldn't switch unless I had a problem with them.

only thing i typically look for is the buy 1 get 1 free coupons .

or at the grocery store . ex: gatorade , which is what my daughter takes to drink in her school lunch i pack . about every 2 weeks they have the 64 oz. as a buy 1 get 1 free ..

i load up..

You need to know prices.

A box of chicken breasts at my local supermarket can go as low as $34.99. One week the flyer had a $10 off coupon for that week...but the price was $42.99, so I didn't bother to get them.

Same thing happens with some 10% off when you might even pay more. So I only use coupons for items I normally buy and where I also know the normal price.

I do feel somewhat schizoid focussing on saving $2 or $3, yet betting orders of magnitude more. Of course I also am price sensitive in placing my bets.

Show me 10% off the price of a house or car and we'll talk.

Otherwise it's not much.

dont you have to save the store owners life or at least return to him a lost piece of jewelry with sentimental value to get that kind of a discount?

Not really - the dry cleaner might be giving you 10% off because your clothes fit him well, and he likes wearing them.

I don't dry clean, or iron either ! I'll use 10% off. For example grocery stores often offer 10% off $50 or $100 in the form of a coupon mailed as a postcard. I'll bring it with me and use it.

The rebate shit gets to be too much effort. Get a $2 tube off toothpaste free with $1.99 rebate, I'll pass.

I did get all my rebates from laptop ( about $250), but it took a few hours to fill out all the forms, double-check them, make copies, mail the forms, mail the checks to credit union, etc. I rarely go to bank, credit union to deposit, I just mail it.
