Yeah, but that lineup is ......suspect for the Nats. Frank Robinson has killed the clubhouse at this point. Probably none of the regulars wanted to play.LOL

They're finally conceding defeat...

Like the Giants here, but not a huge play, as Newport said Tomko isn't great even though his last three starts have been solid. Sometimes these makeshift lineups can surprise you, and no Bonds for the Giants.

More motivation as the Rockies start to add on to their lead over the Pads.

Giants still have 4 gms in San Diego. Diego will probably choke under pressure. If 3gms seperate going in.

I would like to pull the trigger, but has Frank Rewarded his starters with a day off, and said to his today line up....GO and make a name for yourself....Sometimes like said earlier these line ups put up a bunch of runs. He lets them swing all day......Something is fishy here:smoker2:

Mostly agree with you, just a little afraid of the Brett Tomko who walks a ton of guys and gets to 100 pitches by the 4th inning.

Would love to see the Padres choke their way out of the playoffs, they are a horrible team that doesn't deserve to play October baseball. Shit, as I'm typing this we are having a minor earthquake...:monsters-

Tomko has pitched better lately because he is trying to keep from being sent back to the bullpen.

The thing I fear most about the Giants is the bullpen! Hawkins or Benitez out there is a lot scarier than Tomco. Scott Eyre is the only guy I trust in thier pen.

Took the Giants for a unit +101, will keep me busy at work today. Seeing a lineup with Carlos Baerga batting in the 3 hole is an invitation to fade...:drink:

How about that decision to send Alou in the 2nd inning, when he was easily thrown out at home? Would have been bases loaded, one out. Hopefully that doesn't come back to :hump: us...

Why was Tomko batting in this situation? He is running out of gas, this will probably be the inning he finally coughs up a run or two.:drink:

Hard to believe that the Giants NEED this game and they can't muster a run through 7 innings.
