Will Irish-Americans ever object to the "Fighting Irish" mascot?

It seems as though the Indian tribes of North America are accepting the likenesses of Native American characters to be used as college mascots. The NCAA has made examples of some unless the respective tribes (Utes, Seminoles, etc.) approve the likeness to be used.

Will the Irish-American community object to the Irish being portrayed as fighters such as Notre Dame's mascot? How about farmers in Nebraska? Will they object to being called Cornhuskers?

Only if they are called "The Fighting Small Dick Irish"...This would indeed be a personal and demeaning and derogatory attack on our big egos.

Dont know about the Americans but the real Irish does. Its just another myth like the one that says were always drinking, pure fiction:drink:
