Before you jump in and say YES based off of his World Series heroics of the past 5 years and particularly last season's improbable WS journey, take a look at his entire career...

When the dust settles is he in or out of Cooperstown?

The arguerment for;

Two World Series Rings and both in very dramatic fashion.
Finished 2nd for Cy Young 3 times
3-time 20 game winner
184 wins coming into this season, will finish with over 200 career wins
Co MVP 2001 WS

The arguement against

Up until age 33 he was a slightly above average ,compiling a record of 110- 89.
11 seasons where he was a .500 or less pitcher.
He was 52-52 at age 29.

It comes down to this, he has had a great run in the latter part of his career, and has won two very high profile World Series where he had a major impact....

Is that enough to get him into the Hall of Fame?

Schilling's pitching in another big game tonight vs Toronto , as both NY and Bos go into the final week tied...

He is 7-8 , ERA 5.89 this season and has struggled vs the Jays lifetime 3-6, most of which was years ago, he beat Toronto in his only outing this season, although they did rough him up.

VERY close, but if I were an oddsmaker, would make the line basically a toss-up for him getting in the HOF sometime in the future...........maybe a slight lean to the YES.

YES -118
NO -102

:103631605 coming to your senses ...

We talked about this last year Fishstremski and you were still high on WS confetti.

I would say NO but realize his media driven populairty could sway some.

Maybe he has one more magical season in him .

Sorry, Schilling just does not have the numbers to warrant a Yes vote

The HOF is much more than just numbers!

Either way, who cares???

The HALL OF FAME is not even worth discussing........its a joke!

I really don't even like to acknowledge it.

A HALL OF FAME of MLB that has no Shoeless Joe Jackson, Charlie Hustle Pete Rose, Bert Blyleven, or Dwight Evans is a complete farce.

I will NEVER visit this dump until ALL four of these men are inducted by them.

If he had a career ending injury tonight, he would not get in.

The HOF isn't really a HOF, it is becoming a Hall of the Very Good.

So he probably gets in. If Tony Perez is in then a lot of people need to get in.

Basically if you play 15 or more years they throw you in, regardless of how good you were.

SHOULD he get in..no

Numbers cab be misleading. He was a top nothc pitcher for the Phillies for at least three years and was barely above .500 those years. Also remember to trhow in those 300+ strikeout seasons with the Phils. That is a really big number for anybody not named Randy Johnson.

Cone 194-126
Curt 192-131

Actually these two are very similar, when they were right, they were both very good pitchers, to great pitchers, both won some big games at the bigegest times...

Neither are HOF'ers IMO, but very close...

I won't be voting for Schilling when he is eligible.

My thoughts exactly; and the Pro Football Hall of Fame is even worse.

Raffy should be in. I don't care how much juice he took. 500 HR, 3000 hits. what is that...like 3 or 4 others in that club?
