Im very proud of my team this season. Even though I know they dont have much of a prayer come postseason because of the bullpen. But to have the amazing consistancy of winning 14 strait titles is truly amazing. 18 rookies have started games this season. The last time the Braves did not win the division George Bush Sr was president and I was not even gambling age.

I know all the bashers are going to come in here talking about only 1 title to show for all that. But can we please separate the postseason from the reg season? These are 2 separate accomplishments, and the 14 strait division titles can stand on its own by itself as a trully great feat.

Im more proud of this team than any of the other 13. I know this will be another short post season, but who cares.

Great record, but comes NO WHERE near what the yankees accomplished in the 50's and early 60's, screw division titles, how about WORLD SERIES!

agree - great accomplishment

BUT

ONLY 1 world series and that was the ONLY time "Booby" Cox was matched up against a bigger lunkhead then himself - Mike Hargrove and if not for a Dave Justice HR late in G6 the Braves might not win THAT one

the braves are MLB's answer to the Billlls

Or the huge strikezone Glavine was awarded that night!

Still cannot believe the calls Glavine got, he didn't throw a strike all night, how did Cleveland lose to those Braves?

Now im starting to get pissed.:lolBIG: If you want to start talking about what ifs. What about the baserunning mistake Lonnie Smith made in 91? If not for that the Braves would have beat the Twins. What if Mark Wholers would not have blown up in 96 and let the the Yankees come back from 3-1? What about Eric Gregs 5 foot strike zone that Livan Hernandez had in the NLCS in game 7? The Braves are a whole lot closer to having 2 championships than having none.

and i am closer to marrying a Playboy Playmate then i was 5 years ago but i still stand NO SHOT at that ever happening but if i had $30M in the bank and a "unit" like Tommy Lee i could accomplish that

hard to take a team seriously when the WORST sports fans in AMERICA won't even come out to watch them play in the playoffs

Dont even start talking about "strike zones" that other pitchers get...braves got 2 inches on each side of the plate for about 10 of those years!

I guess you missed the 1997 NLCS where Charles Johnson had to have a latter to catch the 3rd strike in the bottem of the 9th inning to win the NLCS. Hernandez got more pitches in that game than any other pitcher I have ever seen. I believe the 97 Braves team was the Best Braves team of them all. Flordia would later go on to win there first World Series against the Cleveland Indians. A team the Braves beat 2 years earlier.

Did you never watch Maddux pitch?

Erig Gregg , easily biggest strike zone in MLB history, he thought everyone was as big as him I guess.

Maddux or Glavine with Gregg behind plate was automatic under.

In this day and age in the sport of baseball it's a huge accomplishment, especially for a mid-market team without a Yankee-type payroll.

Let's not hate on Greg Maddux. How can you hate on a guy that just exploited whatever opportunity the umpire gave him? He made pitches that forced the umps to call strikes too, a true master of his craft. If you watch games him or Glavine pitched in the 90s, they started on the corners, and worked their ways out- it's not like the strike zone started out as big as it ended up getting.

My hats off to the Braves. No one gave them a chance in June after getting off to such a horrid start. Bobby Cox and Leo Mazzone, two great coaches to say the least.

.....and that has an * attached to it as it was done during a strike shortened year.

So, 14 straight division titles and no legit championship.

not to mention that during the past 10 years of this greatest team record ever streak , their have been 40 chances for their division foes to finish above .500 .

they did it 14 times...

and i guess 1994 doesnt count that they were 6 games behind the expos ..

As a Pirates fan, I pretyt much hated the Braves in the 90's. But you have to respect what Bobby Cox/Leo Mazzili/ Scurholz (sp?) has done there. Year in year out they find a way to get it done. Not a lot of success in the postseason but the run of division titles is unreal.
