Shopping for numbers

Amazingly, the bettors who don't know about the Rx.com Web site almost all wager with just one sports book. It got me thinking that one of the surest indicators of a gamblers success is to simply count the number of sports books a bettor uses.

I agree that bettors should have many outs. Got into discussion last night in the cfb with Newport and he says that by wagering offshore it gives you many options.
Well to me the offshore industry just "paints" numbers as they are ALL almost the VERY same in ALL sports.
Now LOCALS around here ALWAYS have varied numbers in ALL sports.
Many people open up many accounts offshore only to look at same price most places.
I guess i be different and have only 1 offshore spot with MANY locals.
Some folks think that you have to sweat the payout with locals. Well i have NEVER been stiffed or stalled by locals, but have been offshore more than once in the last 7 years.
So my opinion is you MUST use BOTH.

Good point. I do use two locals. Problem is they have gotten sharper as well, with many just agents for offshores at least out here in the West. One of my locals is a Seattle guy, another books out of the Bay Area. Used to be you could get bonus points going against the home team, but not any more. I am pretty sure these guys are laying off quite a bit of my action offshore and I get numbers not much out of line with what I can get so I tend to not call them much, but for big games they sometimes can get me an extra point. Problem also is in collecting/paying, they know I am in Vegas and don't give me much of a credit leash so if I go bad on a few games I have to WU some money, just another hassle. Offshore is definitely the way to go, but doesn't hurt to keep a local or two on board and count it as one of your outs.
