Cardinals W/Carpenter Get a W Tonight my.02

Got a hunch that Carpenter goes out & pitches a gem tonight. Wants to go into the post season with some good innings behind him. Also expect the Cards bats to get him the run support, their team takes pride in little things like helping a teammate try to win a Cy award. Astros I feel will be overmatched even though they have more to lose with the wild card still up in the air technically.

Backe who is facing Carpenter is fighting for a spot to pitch in the playoffs...and what he does tonight will either hurt or help his chances..
• HOU is 6-2 in Backe's last eight starts.
• HOU is 10-3 in their last 13 overall.
• STL is 8-2 in Carpenter's last 10 starts.
• STL is 2-6 in their last eight overall.
