being from philly i really want the fightins to get the wild card, but i believe the public likes the houston pitching staff to be on prime time playoff ball....as for the american league....general public has to want the yankees and boston....but i believe it will be yanks in the east and cleveland in the wild card....

my question is: who do YOU want to see?

i see NY winning the AL east and Cleavland gettin wiped out in the first set of playoff games. i think it will come down to NY and LAA for the ALCS. and whoever wins the ALCS will take the series

Got to root for Cleveland to make the playoffs, the have one of the lowest payrolls in baseball, the American way is to root for the underdogs. It would be great to see Cleveland win the wild card and Yankees miss the playoffs with their $200+ million payroll. Liked the chances better before last nights games.

So you think that Houston will win the WC because the higher ups in Baseball want them in?? If so thats got to be the biggest BS I ever heard. Houston is going to win the Wild Card because they have the best rotation in Baseball.

1)they have givien up the least amount of runs as a starting unit.
2) Most quality starts in the NL..right now at 100

Phillies might be able to hit..damn good at it. But you cant win every game with hitting and pitching usually ends up winning championships...JMO

You left out:
3) Phillies are choking like they do every year, they just waited a little longer this time around...

I don't think BigshotMaxx is saying that it is rigged though, he's just saying that baseball viewers would rather have Houston in there than Philly due to the marquee names on their pitching staff.

I personally would like to see Philly get in even though it won't happen, another Houston-Atlanta series isn't that intriguing, it seems like they play every year. In the AL, I definitely don't want the Red Sox in there, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs after decimating their pitching staff in the offseason. Cleveland-Yankees and White Sox-Angels would be a couple of pretty good series I think.

it appears you did, by no means was i insinuating that the end of the season is fixed!!! i was just headlining a thread with what i thought the general public wants...and thats to rather watch clemens, oswalt and petitte, rateher than leiber, myers and leidle....i assume you are as passionate about houston as i am about philadelphia....i was not talking bullshit, i was leading with my heart about the phillies and by no means putting down the astros, just stating they have more character the phillies do and the general public probablly would rather see them get in than philly....which it apperars, barring a miracle, that the phillies, once again will come up short!!

from one max to another...
good luck to your houston team!!

With the exception of Clev. fans, how can it not be Sox/Yanks??? Name a better rivalry in the last 5 - 10 years in sports...

When these teams go at it, drama is guaranteed. Gambling aside, what do you want from sporting events?
