Does anyone know what the career strikeout record is for batters?

This clown is 26 years old with 723 strikeouts!

723 K's in 2254 career at bats (1 every 3.1 at bats).

Unbelieveable!!! If he can stay healthy, he should take the strikeout record down and put it out of reach!!! :toast:

Multi-million dollar joke, but I'm with you, striking out just because you hit home runs is very overerated. I dislike players like Dunn, So's are very boring and unproductive for the team!

A lineup with nine Dunn's would be a hell of a productive lineup though. K's are frustrating but he also gets on base a lot and walks a lot.

He does draw a lot of walks and has a great on base percentage...but what is wrong with this guy? I have never seen someone swing and miss so many times.

0-3 today with 3 K's...

That is a very quirky unbelievable stat. Hard to believe it is so far fetched but I will take your word for it. Still having a hard time believing it as he puts it in the air a lot.

That has to be the most incredible stat I have seen in baseball in a long, long time. THAT is why strikeouts are ridiculous from a #3 or #4 hitter. You have to put the ball in play. His HRs are impressive, but with that many K's he is killing his team by not putting the ball in play.

Wow...you are right. He has 9 career sacrifice flies in 2254 at bats.

He had 0 last season when he hit 46 HRs and 102 RBIs.

0 sac flies from a 3/4 hitter with 568 at bats that season...WOW!

I may be in the minority but my baseball senses tell me I would love to have nine Adam Dunn's in the lineup. Would kill people.

K's are overrated - GIDP is what one should look at.

Who cares if he strikes out? I would be more worried about players who ground into double plays and make 2 outs with one swing. His .394 on-base percentage is 6th among all outfielders and 13th in all of baseball.

Last two years he has had around a .400 on-base percentage, .550 slugging percentage, a .950 OPS, 100+ runs scored and 100+ RBI

That is better than a guy like Eric Chavez in every category.

(PS: The Red Sox better get him next year)

Russell Branyan is another one.. Looked liek a killer earlier in his career.

Has tremendous power but strikes out at a silly ratio.

Thats a great way to keep a discussion going.

Or is that what you do when you run out of valid arguments?
