Been there done that. My friend. Never seriously considered suicide, but they're have been many times I have dug a hole so deep that I had to hit rock bottom to know how serious of a problem it was.

Basically I had run out of all possible avenues to get extra funds to support my habit. Credit cards maxed out, bank account severly negative. No friends to bum money from because I was already in debt with them. Unfortunately my friend you seem to always have to hit the bottom before you learn. Not just with gambling, but in other life aspects like..credit card debt, women, etc.

You'll survive. Trust me.
And gambling if you can regulate it will be fun again.

Wow, I think some attention needs to be paid to your post. Your username suggests you are in college, we have all been there my man, it takes hitting rock bottom to finally start to get better. Gambling preys on college kids looking for the easy buck. The important thing is to take a step back, look at the big picture, be thankful for things in your life that don't have to do with damn money. Money is probably clouding all of your thinking and when one gets on tilt that bad they can be very dangerous. Try your best to ween yourself from gambling, you need a break, a break where you don't bet AT ALL.

Above all, don't do anything stupid and hurt yourself, there are lots of people that would be hurt and miss you.

You either have to learn control and learn to bet smart...which means to bet a certain % of your bank roll on plays.I see too many freinds start gambling, they hit a few games and start laying $1000 or $500 bets on a game when they usually deposit 250 or smaller...In order to win $$ in gambling you must have money management....JMO..GL :toast:

Nyy will bail you out tonight my friend .You are only suppose to bet 5% of your Bankroll so it doesn't go out of control.

I was in your situation last week and I climbed out of the hole I dug but it doesn't happen like that all the time so money management is the key to gambling .Discipline is what you need and I need it myself .You can't make a living out of this if you bet out of control.

Best of luck to you !!

i never thought i would mention this on this site but if there was ever a time i would say its now...the whole "i want to kill myself" thing has totally freaked me out...this is so serious i dont think you realize how serious it is!!!...i am a recovering drug addict and alcoholic...the thought of killing myself was an everyday thought in the "end" for me, actually had several failed attempts....you need to STOP GAMBLING IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GET ON THE COMPUTER OR CALL INFORMATION AND GET TO GAMBLERS ANONYMOUS MEETINGTODAY!!!

EVEN IF ITS JUST TO SEE WHAT THE MEETING IS LIKE, GO TODAY!!!!!

I HAVE BEEN CLEAN AND SOBER FOR ALMOST 3 YEARS AND NOT A DAY GOIES BY WITHOUT ME THINKING OF DRINKING OR USING...GAMBLING IS WORSE IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM.....I KNOW THERE IS NO SAFE AMOUNT OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS FOR ME TO USE, AND I BELIEVE FOR YOU THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A "SAFE" WAY TO GAMBLE...IF YOU NEED TO TALK TO ME I WILL GIVE YOU MY PHONE NUMBER, THROUGH THE HELP OF A MOD, JUST SAY THE WORD...

NOTHING IS WORTH YOU GIVING YOUR LIFE FOR, I JUST HAD AN UNCLE KILLED AND LAST YEAR ANOTHER UNCLE OF MINE KILLED HIMSELF...EVEN THE MERE MENTION OF SUCH AN ACT IS VERY VERY VERY SERIOUS....

FYI;
I have a real problem w/ online casinos. Lost over 10k this year on them. I have made great $$ playing sports. I would deposit $250..get it up to $1500 playing sports. Would then be wanting to keep the addiction going and start playing Baccarrat at 2 am just to get my fix and be broke and depressed sometimes within an hour. Online Casinos are rigged and I still learn that leasson every now and then.
I am up in $$ for the year but would be better if I never played and online casino game...very tempting and evil...master of puppets is what it reminds me of...JMO

Have to agree with those who said get to a GA meeting asap and that gambling is something you need to give up for good. There was an SI article a while back about college kids gambling online (mostly poker) and for many it was a bad situation with very big losses.

I gamble very small amounts compared to others here and well within what I can afford to lose. Even then, I hate losing a big (for me) bet and my first instinct is what can I bet big to get my money back. I think most gamblers have a mentality like that when they lose. It's always tempting to increase your bets when you are winning but for many that means stakes will get out of hand when you hit a bad run which even the best cappers go through.

Obviously, several here have been through some very rough times and they know the pitfalls of gambling. It can be very dangerous for anyone with an addictive personality.

Hey Collegeguy23, quit gambling and stay away from gambling period! You do not have to gamble, you do have to eat, sleep and pay bills however - that is important, gambling is not. Cut your losses and find something else to do, it's a big ol' world out there.
