Bookmaker Paddy Power is already crediting money to people who bet Chelsea to win the English Premier League. Now keep in mind that the season is 7 GAMES OLD!!!!! Chelsea is 7-0-0 and looking good, but there are still 31 games left in the season!!! Amazing!!! What happens if Chelsea blows the lead? Anyone out there who can see why they'd do this so early into the season when so much could change?

because chelsea is unstoppable. Arsenal and Man Utd are weaker and Charlton will cool off eventually. Although it's early, that bookie is making the right call.

It is also excellent PR. Paddy Power has always been good about keeping their name to the forefront of things.

I agree that Chelsea will probably hold on. But the season is only 20% over. If Cech goes down that team could be in trouble. Or if Makelele goes down they could be in trouble as well. That Chelsea backfield did not impress me against Liverpool. They can be burnt with speed on the edges and a tall player can win the aerial game in the middle. Against Liverpool, they didn't know what to do when Hyppia and Crouch came into the middle.

Mr Hines,
This is an old bookmaking ploy to suck in greenhorn punters to think " Wow, what a great book", in reality the liability is next to nothing, especially when you add in advertising costs. That said, PP are a good book which I have never had a problem with and are 100% safe.

Gezzz, its hard running around all these sites, best o luck this weekend Mr Hines, keep on the winning path, dont forget the studying.:103631605

Yea Winbet, I just wonder to myself, what happens if Chelsea do lose the Premiership. What does the book do then? Try to reclaim the Chelsea money? I've seen books do this before, but never this early, I just hope Tottenham Hotspur can be the team to give Chelsea a run.

Mr Hines,

The liabilities PP have on the premiership probably work out the same as a good advertising campaign but the novelty will make it money well spent. Dont hold your breath on the Yids challenging the Masters.

The sooner they grade the wagers and pay the winners, the sooner the winners can risk and lose it on other bets. You have to look at it that way.

Smart move, why tie up punters money for 9 months on what is essentially an even money bet?
I can guarantee they won't be paying out those Hearts to win the Scottish Premiership bet yet, though.

This is freaking brilliant though. I mean not only is it good PR, it is the right thing to do. Publicity stunt or not, how could you not be loyal to them if the rest of the book is at least equal to others?

They're good as in safe but a bit behind times and don't seem to care about opportunites to get some international money (their odds only display in fractions). Their juice is better than it used to be though, perhaps a result of UK gaming law reforms. Nice move by them on the Chelsea bets they need all the loyalty they can get with all the competition out there.
