I will say it again, MANNY is getting lost in all this PAPI cult following.

GREAT protection he provides for PAPI...........and still with great numbers and many clutch hits of his own.

Boston on brink and gets off the ground again..would have been looking at needing a sweep, they still will need 3 of 4 vs NYY now.

yes, the last game where Manny was " On strike" Big Papi was walked 4 times. Without Manny behind him, Big Papi would be walked over and over.

Only 3 games with the yanks JMAN

The pressure is on Cleveland Redsox could care less about the division. I see 2 of 3 versus the yankees......but will Cleveland take 2/3 versus the White Sox

The white sox clinched, but do they not want to go into the playoffs on a winning note will be the key

If the Sox win 2 out of 3 they still need to win another so it is 3 out of 4 needed.

it does not look good for the red sox. they must win 2 out of 3 at fenway for a tie. then win a playoff game at new york. thats 3 out of 4. unless they somehow qualify for the wild card over cleveland after sunday. so advantage, yankees, but it aint over till its over.

And we still have BIG PAPI and they still have the CHOKER A-Rod. Choke.....CHOKE this weekend ARod, choke.

Meanwhile.....

J-Man, you describe one possible scenario. Bos can lose 2 out of 3 to NYY and make the playoffs. Boston could even get swept by NYY and get in provided Clev gets swept and loses the playoff game to Bos.

For there to be a playoff between Bos & NY, provided Bos wins 2 out of 3, Clev would have to at least beat the ChiSox 2 out of 3. If NYY, Bos, & Cle all end up with identical records, Bos & NYY play on Mon, the loser of that game plays Cle on Tues.

SWEEP the yankees and their bitch ass overinflated payroll right out of the playoffs and send them home to weep where they belong.

I was speaking of the most likely scenario, in most scenarios, the Sox are going to need 3 more wins to get in...Why is Chicago all the sudden going to beat Cle with nothing to play for Chicago wins 1 game tops

TRW, the Twins hitting coach was trying to get him to be a singles hitter. (Was he having Pucket fantasys?)

I dont think he would have ever been 'Big Papi' if he didnt get moved out of there.

This could easily happen. Didn't like fact that Chi clinched today,no telling how they approach this series w/Cle., guessing they just don't want to get swept, anything else is no big deal.

Are you sure about that 2 game playoff Chuck? I thought there was a tiebreaker type of deal that applied with a 3-way tie...

honzie, I am positive. Bos & NYY must play a playoff game in NY to determine who will play Clev. I hope it happens. That would be great for us gamblers. LOL!!!!
