A better question would be if the Georgia Bulldogs could beat the Texans!

LOL I saw a guy at another forum actually dead serious saying USC would hang with NFL teams...very foolish.

The Trojans are being compared to a pro team, and I'm sure you've heard people say that they could beat the 49ers or the Cardinals.

But don't believe it.

Ken White, the head oddsmaker and current co-owner of Las Vegas Sports Consultants, said the Trojans don't have the overall talent or depth to compete with any pro team. "The worst NFL teams have got to be 28-point favorites over the top college team, even USC," White said. "They could name their score. It's professionals against college kids, and that's such a big difference. Carson Palmer was a great college player, but he had to sit on the bench right away with the Bengals. It's a big step up to the pros. Last year, Ben Roethlisberger kind of broke the mold, but before him, rookie quarterbacks were 28 percent against the spread over a long sample of games.

That is because of the mental adjustment, not physical. Learning a new system in the pros is a lot more complex.

Roethlisberger didn't start at the beginning of the season and they didn't ask him to do much in the offense. They ran the ball and played great defense.

But that has nothing to do with a college team playing against a pro team...it would get ugly.

The best college team against the worst pro team would get ugly for the college team any year. HOWEVER, would that not be a fun event each year. THAT would be fun, fun, fun. Why can't we have that! I know why, but still....wow. By the way, there would be no reason the pro team or NFL would have a desire to do such. However, there would be the occassional (once in one hundred years) upset and that would be fun to watch.... and fun to hope for. tulsa
