I used to think that Northcoast was reasonably close to being legit (meaning that they just twist the results rather than make them up), but given their brutal recent performance, I wouldn't be surprised to see them resorting to some pretty drastic measures to disguise their results.

Does anyone follow Doc's closely enough to know how they've done?

I've heard good things about Steele. Also heard Doc's is legit, but who really knows? they have a worse rap than ambulance chasers.

Yeah...the ones that you seldomly hear of that dont spend huge bucks on the "marketing" aspect of sports gambling...

Pretty much if you see em with ads in USA TODAY or on their own SATURDAY MORNING PROLINE TV show...

RUN !!
Very good point. I have actually heard of some very low profile ones from
Birmingham, and other places in the south the do very well for high playing clients. I heard this from good sources, so i don't think it is like urban legend stuff.

I've heard terrible things about Phil Steele's pay for picks service. Steele charged $599 for his "MARQUEE PRIVATE PLAY HOTLINE SEASON PASS." His record as of last week, 6-23 ATS. Here is what was written about Phil Steele last year:

Either Daily News football tout Phil Steele saves his losers for The News, or he's got some scamdicapper in him. Prior to yesterday's late games, his News picks were 15-19-1. But a call to his picks-for-sale phone line brings word that, as always, he's knocking 'em dead!

I'm sure there are, but not only do you have to beat the juice, you also have to beat their fee. Tough road to hoe.

Maryland

And this is the ONLY set of plays he releases on the phone and his tape.

Before you can join Jim Feist's boiler room operation, you have to leave your honesty and integrity at the door. Dave Cokin may admit his losers, but the people representing him when selling his picks sure as hell don't.

Are there any honest touts? Sure, but we probably haven't heard of the majority of them. The better marketer you are when it comes to selling plays the more successful you are. That has more to do with it than how many winners you pick and/or how honest you are.

Show me an honest tout and most of them are probably starving.

I think the guys at sharpsportsbetting.com are solid.

No hype. Honest results. Documented wins. Reasonable prices. Customer base is small (hard to get the mainstream when you are honest about your results).

I also like some big name guys like Kevin O'Neill (74-34 ATS last year.......wow), and I am the first to admit Cokin is a must hear every Sunday night, but I agree with the comments that the Feist Group marketing is hard to stomach or to recommend anyone under that umbrella.

I know many hard working honest people in Vegas, some I meet with weekly. People in this business are not all bad guys. However, I do agree that the hyping/marketing is ridiculous.
