..(thanks Clevfan for the read)

Sunday, 02 October 2005

Six legislators from North Dakota in the United States have arrived in Antigua for four days of meetings with government officials.
High on the agenda will be discussions on internet gaming and the development of a corresponding banking relationship with the Bank of North Dakota, the only state-owned bank in the United States managed by the legislators.

Minister of Finance and the Economy Dr. Errol Cort has spearheaded the nation's efforts in the World Trade Organisation against the United States over internet gaming.

He says this week's talks are very important because the success of the internet gaming industry is largely dependent on finding corresponding banks who will do business with internet gaming companies.

Since the Senate of ND is so scared by the DOJ and any letters they send them, supposedly there will be a petition to approve internet poker soon. Won't require any legislator to have to answer DOJ calls. Of course the DOJ probably will take out full page ads in local papers threatening the public, but word is if the voters are given the chance this would pass by a wide margin.
