Under 7.5 STL/SD (-115)

Anyone whos followed the season sees we've got a matchup of aces today.Peavy on the road has been very good @ 6-4 w/ 2.98 era.He seems to be on top his game presently....not allowing any more than 3 ers in any of his L10 starts. In these games hes 8-2 Under and the total of 7 has only been eclipsed once.STL is stacked with righties and vs RHB this year Peavy is only allowing them to bat .212 all season.Carpenter has kind of backslid into the playoffs looking horrible in last few starts.I cant explain it.What I do know is the Padres struggle to hit basically everywhere,Petco or not.Hitting just .230 in thier L10 the Pads have depended on pitching mostly to get them in playoffs. Now SD does have some lefties in the lineup which may cause Carpenter some trouble as his OBA vs RH and LH differs greatly.RH bat only .199 but lefties get him for about .240.Im not seeing a SD victory here (anything can happen) but if the Cards do win it wont be lopsided or a blowout IMO.Both BPs are very capable and should be able to finish things out.If past expericence means anything both guys should be able to go deep regardless.Basically Im thinking Peavy controls STL and Carpenter gets his groove back vs weak Padres offense.

GLTA.
