A lot of people were saying the same thing about St. Louis before todays game..............lackluster performance down the stretch especially from Carpenter who did not win his last 4 starts................
But they clinched - like ATL.................Houston HAD TO play for their post-season lives to the last day..............
Houston did not win a game IN ATLANTA this year..............and Pettitte and Hudson's away and home numbers look pretty similar:
Hudson spent some time on the DL this year but still found time to go 14-9 in 29 starts with a 3.52 ERA. Pettitte was 17-9 in 33 starts for the Astros and had an ERA of 2.39.
On the road he was 7-5 with a 2.69 ERA while Hudson was 7-4, 3.39 at home.
HOUSTON and ATLANTA both had INCREDIBLE records AT HOME this year, and I think that edge will definately go to ATLANTA tomorrow. I think ATLANTA is a better team at creating runs than HOUSTON is - just ask CLEMENS.........
But this one is a REAL toughy to figure out.............my lean is to ATLANTA and I would have LOVED it IF you had also liked them as you have certainly had the handle on your beloved ASTROS through the month of SEPT where you are sporting the best record I have seen through the toughest month I have seen...................
Looking forward to seeing your continued success...........:toast:
Hopefully you'll like CWS again tomorrow...............we shall see...............
