MLB Playoffs

Figured I would give posting another shot for the playoffs. The bullpens pissed me off during the regular season and so I stopped posting and capping baseball. Hopefully that'll change during the playoffs, which I believe it will. I will keep all picks in this thread. Good luck all!

2005 Regular Season

YTD: 5-7-1

Futures:

AL Pennant: Chicago White Sox (+385) <1/3.85>
NL Pennant: Houston Astros (+300) <1/3>
World Series: Houston Astros/Chicago White Sox (+2100) <1/21>

Reasoning: The Astros and White Sox arguably have the two best pitching staffs in the playoffs. The only fear I have is that neither team scores a whole lot of runs and the pitching staff's may not get enough run support. However, the White Sox play great fundamental baseball (i.e. getting runners into scoring position by sacrificing) and I really love that about them. The Astros with Pettite, Oswalt, and Clemens have the best rotation (in my opinion), so they will be in every game and their offense should be able to get the job done.

I can't see St. Louis losing at home tomorrow and I believe they may even sweep the Padres. Also, I see a lot runs being scored as neither Astacio or Mulder are lights out. Good luck all!

2005 Playoffs

So far all three of my futures are in decent shape, although I wish San Diego would have extended their series with St. Louis a game or two. St. Louis scares me, so I may hedge my bet with Houston, although I will wait to see if Houston can get up in the series before I do so the juice isn't that high. I think the White Sox will get by the Angels but will hedge accordingly if need be.

Chicago clinched the AL Pennant and Houston is on the verge of clinching the NL Pennant in need of one more game. If Houston wins, it will be a very nice Playoffs in terms of futures!

Wow, that has to be one of the best comebacks I have witnessed, however, my Houston future is in jeopardy. After a loss like that, it is going to be difficult for Houston to bounce back. I still believe they will win the series but it is going to be one hell of a series now. I will post my Game 6 play Wednesday, so as to get the best line with Houston.

Man this has been an incredible playoffs! Hopefully the winning will continue into the World Series. This is going to be one hell of a series, I believe a classic is on the horizon. Two great pitching staffs, two offenses clicking at the right time, and two teams that will do anything to win. I can't wait! Congratulations to the White Sox and Astros!
