i know they are the 14 time nl east champs, being from philly believe me i am aware of this...this question by no means is a bash on the braves but.....

1) braves bullpen sucks hard

2)pettitte pitching way better than hudson

3)braves struggle to win in the post season

etc......

is it because they are americas team?

is it because they are at home?

is it because they are the better team?

still looking at the matchups but i think my money is on houston here!!

Maybe because the Astros couldn't score more than 2 runs a game if the ball was put on a TEE.

braves win tomorrow max. houston won't have anything left from getting wildcard imo. braves will get revenge in this series. BOL

i am still looking at the game and i am starting to get the feel that the braves were on cruise control for the final few weeks, just like the cards were, and we know how that turned out today.

cincy, i hear ya, just brought this up for discussion...houston cant hit, agreed but they have excellent pitching, which dosent seem to matter all that much considering how peavy and colon got knocked around today....back to work!!

I agree with Kojak. Earler I said I favored the Astros, but I forgot they were away in this series.

Houston flat out sucks on the road. Atlanta is dominant at home. Astros havent touched Hudson this year.

Biggest reason I think the Braves win the series:

They have the better team, BY FAR!

Why are the Braves favored? They are favored because they are clearly the better team. They are also the home team. Plus Atlanta can score runs, Houston cannot. I am not sure who will win this game, but the line is dead on. I will most likely take a shot with the home team, laying a very small price. Either that or pass. But the line is right on.

Its a tuff nut. Hudson has pitched bad last few starts. Petitte, strong as wolf tar tar last few starts. Smoltze is 90-95 % at best with a stiff shoulder. ATL never gets past this point tho.It comes down to Houston great pitching, no run support. Atl very good pitching, good run support.

Houston

They could'nt score if they let the great pitching throw the ball over the fence.
Jeff Fagwell was added to the Roster.
Houston is full of homer fans!!!
There is a guy on here that has Houston Texans in 2005 on his header. I still can't figure out what that means. they havent won a game yet. That is the Homers that live here in Houston. Barely beat the Cubs to win the wildcard.

Pettite:
Houston 0-4 at Atlanta this season
Houston 64-44 Under against right-handed starters

Hudson:
81-29 TSR in home games since
Atlanta 15-3 after 3 or more consecutive losses over the last 3 seasons

Just saw Olympic has Braves at -1 1/2 +205 for tomorrow's game!!! Too tempting to pass up as I agree Houston may be somewhat spent after holding off Phillies for wildcard. Gotta take the Braves to win by 2 runs at that price. Good luck.

nhoj and max demo,

nhoj you need to stop antogonizing people and max demo you need to get a thicker skin and also want to remind you that your slang is not appropriate in the forums. Need to take to rubber room if it continues. Thanks.

I'm just impressed he was able to type, "Fuck Off Asshole" without it getting deleted.

And good for you, maxdemo. "Homer fan", what is that anyway? If your from there (call it home) and you stick by your team even in the bad years, does that make you a homer fan? Do you have to like the Simpsons? Sounds a lot better than a fair weather fan.
