tough day yesterday but thats how it goes, this is not an easy game to cap especially in the post season, but the march for 25+ units continues...x = 1 unit.

white sox -108 xx

braves -111 xxx-rated......gotta go with the home team here, after looking things over today i come up with a big win today for the braves, houston looks appealing, but then looked closer at this ne...appealing dosent cut it anymore with only 1-3 games per day, gotta dig deeper and actually put some feel into this one....heres what i am thinking, anyone notice how the cards played the last 3 weeks or so, lack luster pitching and such....see what they did in game 1 of their series....applying same theory here....hudson needs to go deep into this one, if not it could get scary but i think braves will play very similar to how the cards played....

really dont think the white sox has 3 unit potential in my rating system, i think braves have a better chance to win than white sox although i like both games...hence the xxx play on atlanta, with only a few games per day its a little tougher to rate!!

will be adding a yanks play tomorrow....

good luck and safe, smart betting everyone!!

bonus play, will not count towards my bases total thought id throw it out there:

nhl....... philadelphia flyers -1.5 +121 x

Hey Maxx thanks for your picks. As you see I don't post here much but I do follow your picks and you have done well and made me $$. I just wanted to offer some thoughts - I'm not trying to talk anyone out of any picks, but I think everyone should look at all the angles before they play. You may think my reasoning is way off but I wanted to throw it out there.

I'd be a little careful with the Braves pick tomorrow. I see where you are coming from, and obviously they could definitely win, but I wouldn't compare ATL with STL. STL won 100 games and is playing a team that won only 82 in SD. The talent disparity between the teams in that series is evident, and you saw it today with STL making an early statement (I think I should add that I took SD today as I thought it was a good value bet, I wish I would have known Peavy was hurt). However, ATL won 90 games and HOU won 89. The teams I would say are pretty evenly matched. HOU has a much better bullpen (side note here, STL's pen is obviously their weakness and look how the pen almost let SD back in the game today - the difference is that ATL doesn't have Izzy to shut the door). ATL's offense is obviously better, but if you look at the starting pitching you have the hottest pitcher in the NL (and to add a playoff vet who has won 13 postseason games) going against Hudson, who has pitched decent in the playoffs (1-2 3.90 ERA career) but not as well as in the regular season. I think Berkman, Biggio, Ensberg and Lamb can generate the few runs it will take to win this game - and if they get the lead its Lights Out Lidge. I wouldn't share the same confidence in Farnsworth. I like HOU esp at +100 (BETCRIS). I could see ATL winning, but just wanted to share my thoughts.

Unfortunately for me, I also like BOS (+103) and LAA (-120) tomorrow. I think Buehrle on paper looks to have the advantage over fatty Wells but for some reason Wells always comes up big in the playoffs, against all odds. The champs play best with their backs against the walls (see last day of regular season and NYY series last year) and don't want to go home 0-2. I guess this is a gut play on my part, don't really have the #s to back it up (except Wells is 10-3 lifetime in postseason with 3.16 ERA). Same thoughts with Anaheim, don't really see them going back to NY down 0-2. NYY got their game in ANH tonight and I just don't know how Wang will pitch tomorrow. I could see LAA getting to him early and rattling him. If he gets out of the first few innings with little damage, NYY will win it. I think Lackey is a bit overrated so I do like the O9 for the game. At least we have one play in common...

Small plays for me on HOU +100, BOS +103 and LAA -120. Medium play on NYY O9. At least one of us will win, right? Hopefully you don't sweep me though...

Won't matter if NIU covers 2 1/2 in college football tomorrow.

BOL and thanks for posting.

ital, i appreciate your insights and with all this detailed thought perhaps you should post more, maybbe even start your own thread....

originally i was on houston then i really started tolook at the numbers and trends, as i stated earlier i dont bet the series because each game has a different feel...with no games being played yet, this series dosent have a feel yet but the braves and home field counts HUGE for me in my decision making....you stated that +100 is a great price for houston and i agree, however, -111 in all actuality is a small difference so a loss dosent do that much damage, juice isnt too high....if there is one thing i learned about this season its that the pitchers can pitch the game of their life and still lose, i feel even if houston out pitches the starter for the braves, the pure thunder that atl brings to the plate over matches the houston bullpen as well, they are not impressive just like atl pen either...we shall see...

yanks series as well as cws already have shown me tons about these clubs....boston looks tired and they are not the same team as last year....angles just look out of place, over powered and not confident. hey, as you can tell by my sub .500 record that i lose alot of games, but my total units are over 70 with a losing record, that tells you that i have alot of confidence when playing bigger unit plays...anyway i appreciate and respect your opinions, we will know more tomorrow!!

good luck,

maxxx

I definitely hear what you are saying Cash. HOU couldn't take care of business in the first two vs. the Cubbies but did win the last two when they needed to. In game two vs. the Cubs Pettitte pitched a gem but Lidge blew it. I think he may have gotten that out of his system. And Rodriguez pitched game one of that series - Rodriguez isn't starting tomorrow. As the saying goes, you only have as much mo as tomorrow's starting pitcher...and Pettitte is one of the best. Either way, this is going to be a tight low scoring game IMHO. If it comes down to the pens, I like my chances with HOU. Can definitely seen the argument for ATL here though. HOU plays MUCH better at home.

Thanks for the insight fellas. There are really just action plays for me. It will help the work day go quicker. Can I stress enough that the one I REALLY need is NIU tomorrow? LOL.
