He let a routine grounder go under his glove that would have been at least 1 out and 99% a double play...next batter hits a 3 run HR

Let me get this right: Because Graffy made the error, it is therefore OK for Wells to give up 3-run homer? Itscalled not picking a teammate up. Wells has been around long enough to not let something like the error put him on tilt which it obviously did.

I'm with Bulldog77. Wells threw the same curveball two pitches in a row. The second one was the homerun. Graffanino is not the guy who gave up the gopherball.

Something similar happened in the Braves game, although not as obvious. One man on, no outs in the 8th. Houston hits a ball between 1st and 2nd, Giles goes deep onto the grass and gets it, jumps up and fires to first. It's gonna be a close play obviously and Franco stands with one foot on the base and the other right near it, as if it was a one hopper to 2nd, easy out. No stretch at all, runner beats the throw by a hair. This changed the whole inning as Houston was then able to bunt the runners over, the flood gates opened and that was the ballgame.

Runner on 2nd, one out, could have been a different story but we will never know. I just don't see how a player with 20+ years in the league doesn't know to stretch for a throw hit deep in the hole.

Noway they get rid of him because of that error. They like his big stick.......... lol The guy can hit in fact he almost made up for it with a late double. Runner on 2nd 1 out and they cant get him home.

I had the Red Sox and I was pissed at him as well but I think before the series is over we will hear from the Sox and they wont be white.

Seems like everytime I bet the freaking White Sox their pen blows. Figures for me to be on the other side for the pen to acually close a game.

Bulldog and Cougher,

You guys called and Wells was man enough to admit it. He said "don't point the finger at anyone but me".

That's picking up a teammate.

Bill Buckner did not cost the Red Sox their world series loss in '86. I'm amazed that people really think that.

No he didnt. But he didnt allow them to win it either. The error hurt bad. There were alot of other factors that went into that sad display, but Buckner is a part of it too. Also Tony's error sucked, but we can still come back, it isnt the World Series.....and WE WON IT LAST YEAR!!!!
