I swear when the Red Sox got rid of Mark Belhorn and the Yanks signed him I had this feeling that wouldnt be so ironic if he came back and make a play for the Yanks to beat the Sox...........

Instead it was the guy who replaced him making the eroor that may have ended the Red Sox season...........

The guy was nails in last years playoffs and I just thought he fit in well the the Red Sox.........kind of a lunch pail guy.........

Detractors will point out to his low .200 batting avg but the guys was a good defensive player and again he had some big swings last year vs the Yanks. Who can forget that homer in game 6........

Where would the Red Sox be if they had kept Pedro and Bellhorn???

Maybe on the verge of championship again........?????

Sox screwed with a winning formula. If they get knocked out you can blame that 10 year old general manager.

I am glad someone finally agrees with me........I will even go as far as to sy this.........I was wondering what the F##k Theo was doing in the offseason.........Why not give Pedro his money he deserved even if you only got 2 great yrs and 2 mediocre one.......I would have also signed Lowe..........I mean really how much better have Clement and Wells been .........so what if it costs a few dollars for Pedro and Lowe......look what they did for your team last year.......the campionship was worth every extra penny it would have cost..........

then why not keep Cabrera.......how much cheaper was Renteria?? he has proved to be a bad decision.......again just like Pedro and Lowe...look at how clutch Cabrera was at the end of last year.......hell his defense was amazing..........

WHY SCREW WITH A WINNING TEAM THAT HAD MAGIC GOING.......another point is that if you would have resigned Pedro and Lowe you could have gotten by without Schilling for the first half of the season..........think he would be pitching good now had he had'nt been rushed back so fast........DUH.........

While you can certainly make a case for altered chemistry on the Red Sox, I don't think Bellhorn had anything to do withit-I've been screaming since last year for them to get rid of him and had they done so sooner this year than they did, I'm convinced they would've had a better record. He is a megastiff, you don't get to strike out 168 times like last year with a paltry 17 dingers from the second spot, and the last time I checked his stats-admittedly before the Sox wised up and jettisoned his ass-his numbers were even worse. One key error by Graff doesn't make him a worst fielder than Shine-horn, either...
