Mother Sherman used to say that all the time.....and my how true it is....I am only 30 and feel that way.....

Some of you "older" peeps.....what would you tell a youngster if you could tell him one thing that you learned as you got older?

56 years old here.

I would tell youngster to NEVER lay points on the road.
Save your money and ALWAYS buy LAND.
Find yourself a woman that you LOVE to talk too. When the looks goes ya better have lots of MONEY or GREAT conversation skills.

I always remember two things that my departed father used to say.

You will always think you're older than you really are, and 5-7 years from now you will realize you weren't that old when you were 30, and when you're 37 you will feel the same way, and 5-7 years from then 37 won't have seemed that old....this will always be this way, was for me anyway....not sure what I'm getting at exactly.

Newport sounds like a guy who has no patience...sometimes the best bet is no bet.

My advice in everything except gambling is to take chances, dont play it safe.I myself regret almost none of the chances I took, but alot of the missed opportunities.

Well I will add to your anecdote about age,

You might not feel as old as you are like you descrbe above, but you sure gain more PATIENCE!!!! I would not say I have NO patience, I have defintley increased my patience that is for sure!!!

Oh and if I bought the Yahoo at 7.......I would be gamnling professionally as a career LOL. The Bankroll would be a lot greater!!!

START at age 30, thats not that young....go get annual or every 2 yrs doctor check ups so if you get something bad they can detect it early

TREAT OTHER'S WITH THE SAME RESPECT YOU EXPECT IN RETURN....my mother and father beat that into me since i was a small boy...and you know something it works...sure makes the world a better place for me to hang my hat on a daily basis...i'm now 48 years old and it has worked for that long...i do not see why it won't work for the rest of my life...just my two cents on the subject...jeffksu
