As a life long Red Sox fan I am sorry but not surprised by the early exit by this year's team. To be honest it would have been a lot worse had it been the hated Yankees. I said it a month ago this RS team just didn't have the pitching this year, they did well to just make the playoffs with a game but overmatched (in that spot) Tim Wakefield as their ace. Spring training is only 6 months away.
Congrats to Chicago fans I hope the White Sox go on to win it all.

it honestly didnt hurt me. this team didnt have "it". whatever "it" is, this team never had it. the 2003 team had it, but fell short. the 2004 team had it and won.
I like to root for teams that havnt had much success to win in any sport if my team cant. The white sox qualify. so do the astros ( um, also I have $200 on the astros at 25-1 to win the nl pennant

Red sox will be back into the hunt next year with a much newer and improved cast. Papelbon goes into the rotation. Hansen becomes a key guy maybe even the closer in the bullpen. resumes from free agent pitchers now being accepted in Boston. :howdy:
