From a long time Red Sox fan, congratulations to the Chicago White Sox. Nice job. Beat the MFY if you get a shot at them.

Newport, is that the Newport Bridge in your avatar? I spent some time there while in the navy and it was one of my favorite places to live.

• The White Sox game against the New York Yankees on Friday was prefaced with a “Gathering of the Champions” ceremony, in which trophies from the 1985 Bears, the ’90s Bulls, the 2005 White Sox, and the 2010 Blackhawks were displayed side-by-side. For all of Chicago’s persistent sports moaning, no other city can claim a title in each of the major sports over the past 25 years. Maybe Mayor Daley can solve the city’s budgetary woes by loaning out a trophy or two to Seattle.

I didn't realize that. Kinda strange. The NBA title is the elusive one. Just checked and only 8 cities has represented over the last 25 years. So many repeat champions. And I think 6 of the 8 don't even have NFL teams.

Then again, wouldn't Boston people dispute this? Don't they pretty much claim the Patriots?
