A couple hours later learned from TheRX that they had folded up in the middle of the night and taken my $3,000 with them.
Was actually somewhat fortunate, as I had close to $20,000 there two weeks prior.

Everyone was still blowing them saying how great they were despite how they were offering the house to players, with little or no regard to sensible bookmaking practices.
Claiming they would never fold because Charlie had millions blah blahblah.

From memory, they gambled on the superbowl when patriots did the rams. Rams were -14 and aces stuck out 14.5 - all the money was on the pats so they would have got absolutely smashed. Before that their numbers were always very 'opinionated' and after the pats won straight up i think that's when they bailed. Does this sound right?
If I recall correcctly, Shrink put out a warning about a week or so before and was convinced to retract it.
I can't believe nobody has gone after Charlie Therwhanger.

Yes, I remember. More than one poster posted questions on how Aces Gold could offer bonuses and let you buy on and off 3 for 10 cents without losing money. Those posters were ignored or were drowned out by the "I love them" and "they pay fast" posts.

It was sad day as far as I was concerned Great shop to make money. The way I was playing it, taking out timely withdrawls, but leaving money in to do some damage with that NO Vig Friday. The reason I stayed even though I was suspicious, was, I figured their would be bailout from some shops and I was right. Thanks Cascade and Royal for that. And Thanks Aces for GIVING me the cash
