I have Cincy tonight on the last leg of one that is $25 to win $489 (moneylined)

I have Cincy ML and Pittsburgh ML on another one..$12 to win $393

what is my optimal play here?

I would just stick with Cinci.

Hottest team in the NFL against a badly injured Pitt team.

RACER--Hedging many times comes down to ones own PERSONAL situation.

I would analyze this and do what you think is best for you.

Will say this, one is usually better off in the LONGRUN sticking with their orignal wager and not hedging.

Perhaps a VERY SMALL hedge(under 20% buyback) would be your best option.

Thanks, Fish. I've had a great weekend and don't really need the money, so
let's roll the dice....

Go Bengals!!!

Any parlay or teaser parlay that pays at least 3/1 or higher, and has an isolated start time for the last leg(this should be aimed for by design if possible), should always be hedged for at the bare minimum it's original buy-in, if not even a small profit, regardless of whether one mortally loves the last side or not..you've earned a profit by then!

If you believe in your skills, there will always be more games to play the next day, and the next, so take back the buy(if not even some profit down!), and play the hedge window..for free.

"Letting it all ride" is for free rolls on house money, and for drunks at LV crap tables!

P.S. Despite the growing popularity with some sharps, parlays and teasers are frowned upon by the vast majority of old-school wiseguys as something far beneath them..though many will wheel horses in a heartbeat.

If you're going to hedge the last leg of your parlay...why did you bet that game in the first place?

Never understood the thinking behind this..."Hey, I'm going to parlay 4 games on Sunday. What the hell, I'll take MNF as my 5th game...even though I know I'm going to bail on MNF if I win the first 4 games!"

You don't understand putting yourself in a position to guarantee a profit?

FunkMonkey is right. If you were going to bail on the last game anyway then why put it in the parlay. Just cash your win. By hedging it off you're double-eating juice for no reason. Only reason to do that is if the last leg is a good number/odds or you expect the number to move in your favor. Otherwise it's double-juice-eating for no reason.

Unless it's a freeplay and then it's a different story.

I understand that...all I was pointing out was he was looking to make sure he made a profit at this point. There are a lot of players that place multiple team parlays and after seeing the early stages hit end up just wanting to earn a profit. They played it as a long shot and really get surprised to be in this position with 1 game left and don't have the "all in" attitude.

In this guys position, I just assumed he wasn't use to this situation and was just asking posters what he needed to do to guarantee a profit.

It is a completely different situation when you place the bet than when the earlier plays have hit and you are sitting with just one play left. He could look back and do things differently, but at this point if he wants a no lose situation, he has it available.

That's true. I'm just saying that people who create this parlays hoping to hedge at their end are just throwing away money by including the last leg.

I never hedge off of a parlay unless it is for an unbelievable amount.

This was a unique case in which I had the Bungles on the last leg of a 4 teamer and on the third leg of a 4 teamer w/ the Steelers tonight.

Was just wondering if there was a strange way (like an action reverse or something....still not sure what one of those are) to lock into some profits other than betting the Jax ML.

Case in point, Kidslick could've sided and/or middled last night's Cinn-Jax tilt.
