Espn Has Had So Much East Coast Bias Over The Years With Red Sox And Yankees That You Would Think There Is Only 2 Teams That Play Every Year In Mlb. If Yankees Lose Tonight (which I Think They Will), Believe Other Teams Like My Cardinals Will Finally Get Their Due As Well As Astros,angels, And White Sox. Yankees Losing Tonight Would Be Great For Mlb And For Fans As Espn Will Finally Be Forced To Report More On The National Scale On Teams Other Than Yanks And Red Sox.

TV ratings will take a pounding if Yanks lose as most of Country will not care.

The Red Sox and Yankees could miss the playoffs five years in a row and ESPN would still focus on them.

i would argue the opposite way - espn WANTS the yankees to lose

FOX is the one that wants the Evil Empire to win since they are showing the WS - NOT espn - and w/o the Evil Empire the ratings could be lower - making espn HAPPY and FOX upset

I hate fox.. Cause every game the yankees are in Tim "I'm a fucking HOMER" Mccarver (sp?) is always annoucing. He's such an asshole and is soooo for the yankees it nuts.I hate hearing him. He's easily on top of my most hated announcers next to joe theisman.

Tv stations could care less if the rest of the country does not want to watch the yankees. Simple fact NY is the biggest city in The us by far and then add all the nyers who no longer live in NY and no way the cards/sox can draw that kind of rating. See it matters as for what kind of people are watching. NY has a lot of money and as for advertisers they love that. If you are selling something who di you want to show it to? me anyday of the week I will advertise in the NY market then some small midwestern city. If the yanks get a 7 rating in the WS compared to a 11 rating for wsox/cards. the 7 ratings is still the better rating for them.

ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY AND THESE TV STATIONS ARE NOT STUPID THEY WANT TO ATTRACT THE NYERS.

Very good points Kojak and something I had not thought about. This would be great for the teams left. While I may not be a fan, what the Cards have done the last couple years seems to have gone unoticed for the most part with the national media. This would allow them to have the spotlight, which they really do deserve.
