Why is it a bad idea to tease accross the number ZERO in NFL?

for example tonites game, if SAN DIEGO is -3.5 & you choose a 6.5 point TIES WIN teaser & you tease them to + 3 (which is just like +3.5 with the TIES WIN)....

why is that a bad bet? after all you are teasing accross two number THREES? the most key number in NFL?

help me understand this. :ughhh:

also "0" is a dead number, so a 6 point teaser, in reality becomes a 5 pt teaser. losing value in the nfl, over the long run, will kill you.

If you can play a 6-point +100 odds ties win teaser from -3 to +3 then it should be marginally alright.

But the most basic reason why crossing the pk em is generally bad is because you are wasting a full teaser point from -0.5 to +0.5 because virtually 0 games end in a tie. Additionally, 1 and 2 point games are relatively rare.

easy, you lose a point. +.5 to -.5 or vice versa is the same line.

6.5 is costing you extra right SS?

Therefore, there is a better chance of a number falling on the 7,6, or the 4 than a single 3................according to probability.

What you have left over on the 3-3 side to make up for it is only a 1-1-2-2 vs 2-5 on the otherside.......not enough to make up for the 7-6-4 statistical victory over the single 3.

Remember also, one of the 3's your working with is an UNDERDOG 3, which will fall less time than a favorite 3.

What odds do you have on this teaser, -110??? What that means is that each leg is right around -260 odds. Go to Olympic and check their alternate line on Pitt -3.5/SD +3.5. It's +240/-280. Assuming Olympic has made a good line then your teaser line is right in line with fair value, no better no worse. I think that's about right. And that's with maximizing the edge with ties win.
