Anyone catch the sign Al Michaels was referring to?

They had just come back from a commercial break, and the camera was on some fans in the crowd. The first words out of Al's mouth were "And if you did, you got three points." I about jumped out of my chair, wishing that I had taped the game to go back and see what the sign said. It was definitely a gambling reference, and I bet it said something like "I bet my house on the Steelers." It's so funny how blatant this guy is about gambling references. Gotta love it. He made another one in addition to this one tonight, but I can't remember what it was. But did anyone see the sign and know what it said?

I heard the comment but missed the sign. I give Al kudos as what is wrong with mentioning betting on a football game? Probably 50% of all people that watch the mnf have some sort of bet on the game.Everyone in the media has to be so damn politically correct when it comes to sportsbetting as being taboo.

You can always count on Musberger for gambling references. During the first quarter of the game during UVA-BC, when UVA had the ball coming out of a commercial break, he says something like, "Cavaliers ball, 1st and 10...BC comes into the game favored by 7."

Brought a tear to my eye. I love Musberger solely for that kinda shit.

He's my boy. Last year during the Mizzou-Illini game, he mentioned that the Illini came into the game 16 point favorites. Not once but 4 times in the first half! I wonder if he bets mostly at Pinnacle, or if he uses Skybook for the free half point. Maybe he'll rank books at halftime someday or something.

I had EMU also. Have some class and down it, you assholes. What can you expect though? I'm sure that team is spread-conscious. They absolutely fixed that bowl game last year.

many years ago Al said during a blowout with still 3 minutes left the game is not over but after another late touchdown he said....the game is now "OVER" I went nuts. He has a history of remarks like that

Yeah Ray, I remember that one. I think it was in Miami, and someone scored a late TD to put it out of reach and also over the total, and Michaels said something like "Now it's over, and REALLY OVER, if you get what I mean." He is VERY aware of the side and total numbers on games he does, and quite often will make a sly reference about it.

A few years ago a team scored a meaningless TD late in the game on some miracle play with a few seconds left that allowed them to cover and Al said "That roar that you just heard came from Vegas".

well he should have been logged on to the rx looking at the toledo in game thread!!!! I was rooting furiously for that late game cover after almost breaking my fingers rooting for Bowling green which also gave me a late game cover eerily similar to the late game cover in the Toledo game!!!!

Last night he asked The Terminator for his pick for the 6th at Santa Anita. Turns out they don't run today. Good work Al.
