Film critics are in general accord that “Two for the Money” is a mess of a movie. Set in the rancid world of high-pressure touts, the drama starring Al Pacino and Matthew McConaughey has a few sparkling moments. However, it ultimately collapses in a tangle of loose.

Charlie Maxwell..

This story we know about..Gamblers, touts, low lives..Thats the small story..That story has been done many times..Its a part of the biz and makes for good cinema..Or not so good cinema..

The real story is what is going on offshore..The people and places and how it happened, and continues to thrive..The story is about the gentlemen who had the insight to bring VEGAS to SAN JOSE..

The BOOKS in CR employ over 15000 Costa Ricans..High season, maybe more..Multiply that between all the other countries where BOOKS are present, and look at what that has done to those economies..

If there were..A BM HALL OF FAME..speak to those guys..hear there stories..Now you got a movie..

They say real life is better than fiction..So do I..

in the story you refer to him as Brandon Lang, Lane & Link...I have seen much confusion on this...i thought it was Brandon Lang (www.brandonlang.com)

Roger Ebert gave it an A-

Al Pacino and Matthew McConaughey both deliver great performances. The story of Lang is well told.

It is not some fly by night flick to non chalantly comment on. It is a wonderfully crafted movie, and it needs to be respected as such. Cult classic, not best seller.

The first half of the movie was awesome, with Lang's college FB career, his VIP trip to New York, etc. 2nd half was predictable and a little bit scattered, with the inevitable downfall. A bit too much exaggeration though, with him going 14-2 on some of his first weeks, then 0-12 later on. Where are the 8-6 and 6-8 records? Overall, I'd recommend it.

I guess I can see the point about not having a mediocre weekend

But there is not really a lot of drama in that to squeeze into a 2 hour movie, IMO.

Actually. The funny thing to me is that in real life Lang is a fugly dude, but in the flick he is played by a total pretty boy most girls would drool over. Now that's Hollywood.
