RAYS interview ALAN TRAMMELL as new Skipper

Just saw the TV report here locally with the sound down and I could have sworn it said he was HIRED....but can't verify, so I guess I misread.

If they select him - and I think he's a solid choice - let's hope his first season in TB is a tad better than first in Motown...heh

Seriously, AT seems a valid choice, especially given the younger roster here. Let's hope the new ownership follows through and gets him at least 10-15 million for fresh pitching.

Personal opinion on what next years roster should look like from an offensive standpoint.

C - Hall
1B - Lee
2B - Cantu
SS - Lugo
3B - Huff should be moved back in so they can retain the LH power.
LF - Crawford
CF - Baldelli
RF - Gathright
OF - Hollins, Gomes

That leaves a backup C and three more offensive players. Alex Gonzalez might continue to be a good fit as 3B/SS and Huff can of course be a 6th outfielder and alternate 1B.

I'd love to see tram get another shot. Not saying he'll be any good, but losing in Detroit doesn't prove he wont be.


What's the injury status on Rocco B? He missed pretty much the entire season, right? or did he spend some time in AAA?
